NAKEDNESS - Why we're ashamed!

Genesis 2:25 says, "And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed." So there was no shame at this point.

But in Gen 3:7, "the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loin coverings."

A companion text is 2:17, which reads, "but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die."

In other words they had nothing to be ashamed about prior to the woman's deception; so the awareness of nakedness was resident in the fruit of "the tree of the knowledge of good and evil."
